Ek Choti Si Kahani Qutub Ki- Qutub Minar Ki Zubani
Swagat Ha Apka
Dilwalo Ka Sahar Dilli Ma.
I am the Qutub Minar, and you have read about me on the pages of Indian History. I welcome you to listen to my story to enrich your knowledge about the glorious history behind my origin. By visiting me, you will find me standing tall and proud. I have been right here for over 800 years. Your Qutub Minar witnessed the rise and fall of empires. “I” stood as one of the key attractions for visitors in Delhi and a must-visit historic and iconic tower.
My story began in 1193 when Qutb-ud-din Aibak, the founder of the Delhi Sultanate, took the initiative to lay my foundation. I am the symbol of victory and marked the beginning of Muslim rule in India. My construction took a few years and continued under Iltutmish. In the later part, under the supervision of Firo Shah Tughlaq, my five-tower construction marked completion.
I want you my Atithi to take a circular round of me to witness the carved verses from the Quran on me. Take a look at my red sandstone and marble walls. It represents the artistry of Indo-Islamic architecture.
I have witnessed the rise and fall of many dynasties, from the Mughals to the British. No one can or ever tried to pull me down, and I have been resilient since my birth. Earthquakes, have shaken me, but my strong construction helped me survive the jerks. Like every historic monument, I also witnessed wear and tear because of harsh and changing climatic conditions. Your Qutub Minar was restored time and again by human civilization. It reflects a testament to human ingenuity.
Thousands of visitors come to meet me and gaze up at my 73-meter height in awe. They whisper about the stories hidden in my walls and appreciate the strength I display to remain strong and tall till now. I also whisper in their ears and narrate the stories of the bygone eras, the scholars and kings who once walked around me. Let me tell you, I am not just a monument and I am much beyond that. Your Qutub Minar is a history in itself.
So, as you stand before me today, remember—you are not just looking at a tower; you are witnessing centuries of India’s glorious past. Visit me again and don’t forget to tell my story to others who are yet to visit me and explore the architectural beauty of mine.
See You Soon!
Yours Truly…..

Nice narration from the point of view of the Qutb Minar and stunning pictures by the way.
I was reminded of the movie Tere Ghar Saamne in which Devanand and Nutan sing at the Qutb Minar!
Your storytelling really brought the history of Qutub Minar to life in such a fun way. The little anecdotes you shared gave me a fresh perspective on a monument I’ve seen a million times since my childhood till today but never truly thought about like this.
The magic of your words has been able to highlight the glorious era and the ups and downs of our country’s historical journey through this magnificent tower’s eyes.
Reading this felt like Qutub Minar itself was talking to me! Loved how it brings history to life in such a simple yet powerful way. Now I really want to visit again and listen to its whispers.
Very innovative to think about making the Qutb-Minar talk. I have stayed in Delhi for many years and hence have visited this historic monument. In fact, we used to go for moonlight treks that used to end in Qutb-Minar…It brings back fond memories.
oh my! Another reason added to visit Delhi asap. That line “you are witnessing centuries of India’s glorious past” stands true for so many of our historical structures, isn’t it? After food stories, another creative segment by you of monuments. Loving it! already curious about which next monument will be talking to me and sharing its rich history
I’ve read all about the Qutub Minar in history books. But the magic of your words make me look at her like a confident woman calling us to gaze at her beauty and power! I love it!
