Namaskar. Aj Sunati Hu Meri Kahani… Taj Ki Kahani
I am the Taj Mahal, an ageless icon of love. Emperor Shah Jahan built me in memory of his beloved queen, Mumtaz Mahal. People from across the globe visit me to date to witness my beauty and appreciate this historic love story.
Their love was deep, but fate played a cruel joke on them – Mumtaz passed away, leaving Shah Jahan heartbroken. To honor her, he called upon the finest artisans from distant places. Their craftmanship, devotion and hardwork created me, and I was born. It took 22 years to craft the symbol of love. Me The Taj got crafted from pure white marble. I got embellished with precious stones.
After Mumtaz, Shah Jahan received the second shock of his life. His son, Aurangzeb, imprisoned him at a place far away from me. He kept watching me through the windows of the prison while remembering Mumtaz. After his death, he got buried beside Mumtaz Mahal. I am that epitome symbol of love that endures forever and will tell it all to every visitor. For love, just like me, is eternal!
I welcome you all to take a walk around me, and explore my grand dome. My four tall minarets, and my gardens will impress you. If you are truly lucky and listen closely, you will hear the saga of Shah Jahan’s love for Mumtaz Mahal in the air.

Wah Taj, I will remember you because of your beauty, not because you are a symbol of love. Shahjahan was not a very promising husband towards his wife, who died while giving birth to their 14th son and was also only used for making babies.
