Mother’s Day: Celebrating A Very Special Day In A Special Way
Mother’s day: Celebrating A Very Special Day In A Special Way
Mother is the most special person in our lives. She is the one who introduced us to this world. A mom is the one who bears the severe pain of labor to help us watch the sunshine of this beautiful world. Well, It’s also true that to become a mother, you don’t need to give birth to a child. I appreciate those divine souls who embraced motherhood by adopting little ones deprived of love and care as their children. To me, they are equally respectable as birth-giving mothers.
There is one more mother we are gifted with when the wedding bells ring in our life. Yes, our Mothers-in-law. I am not here today to differentiate between the two, as both are important in our lives and hold a special place in our hearts.
Her every touch makes us feel secure and safe under her umbrella of love. Many know the word “unconditional love”, but we can sense the true reflection of this word from the love and care of the mother who nurtures the kid from birth till they are independent. She gives her best to protect her child throughout her life.
Just a year back, I embraced motherhood and witnessed a complete change in my life. Life appeared more responsible and meaningful. Oh yes, not to forget that I experienced an enhancement in my level of patience.
My little one’s smile seems the prettiest in the world to me. I feel so composed when I look at him sleeping in my lap and life seems so blessed. I remember my mother’s words when she used to appear overprotective towards me. “You will understand my acts when you become a mother”… her words are so true. And, I realize it now. Being a mother introduces a whole new perspective in front of you.
Now it is our turn to show our gratitude to our Moms. Indeed, we can never compensate for the level of sacrifice they made for our upbringing. But we can make them happy by celebrating a day dedicated to our Moms. Here, I would like to add that celebrating a single day for a mother is not enough. A mother’s presence is so much in our lives that every day should be Mother’s Day for us.
Can we forget the animal mothers? No, we cannot, as they are no less than human mothers. They are equally caring, affectionate, and protective of their kids. A mother is a mother, and there is no particular definition to describe her.
History Of Mother’s Day
Anna Jarvis celebrated the special Day for Mothers in the year 1908. She established a memorial for her mother at the famous St Andrew Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. Anna started campaigning to consider Mothers’ Day as a holiday in the USA.
Initially, her request got rejected. But, by mid-1911 in the US, a day was observed specially dedicated to the mothers. For honoring and showing respect to mothers, a proclamation got signed by Woodrow Wilson to celebrate the second Sunday of May Month as Mothers’ Day.
How To Make Our Mothers Happy?
Just like us, there are some dislikes of our mother. Well, by keeping that in mind, we need to plan how to gift her happiness and make her feel special on this day.
We can gift her what she loves or can be with her and make her feel safe and protected under the umbrella of kids’ love and care. In short, it’s difficult to say what will be the right way to celebrate Mother’s Day. She is one such living goddess in our lives, whose presence is a blessing.
We must ensure we take the best care of them in their hours of need and gift them a life that she cherishes to enjoy. A mother’s only gift is the love and care of her child. Let’s promise ourselves that we will take the best care of our mothers and turn each day a Mother’s Day for them.
Happy Mother’s Day To All Mothers On This Earth

Mother’s are like god In our life ..those who have their mothers with them have biggest blessings in their life.. ur blog is amazing ????
We all are aware and celebrate Mother’s Day but I never tried to dog into the history of how and when it started. Loved to know that a daughter started it for her lost mother. Mothers do have a special place in each person’s heart.
That’s one awesome mother’s day tribute. And glad to know the history of the day, I don’t think I dug into that ever. Mothers are truly special and beautiful. They make our world a better place and congratulations to you on becoming a MOTHER.
Indeed, taking care of a helpless human being can teach you so much and change you so much when you become a mother and the only source of the baby’s nourishment. I believe these special days are now heavily commercialized but giving her time, appreciation and consideration is the most invaluable gift.
Such a beautiful and heartwarming post. Mothers Day is indeed a special day to recognise the efforts and love of a Mother and not only on one day, it should be celebrated every day and every moment.
I agree with you Samata, mothers are mothers, whether humans or animals. They are all fiercely protective of their lids and can go to any extent to protect them. No one can take their place. Like you I realized a lot of things that they used to do for us which we found weird n odd… now I do the same with my kids… hahaha
What a beautiful post on Mother’s Day!❤️
Mothers make sure we don’t get hurt in any way. Similarly, our celebration of Mother’s Day should be focused on mom’s likes and dislikes:)
Mothers day is to be celebrated everyday as you said one day isn’t enough. Mothers are the most important part of our lives.
wow… Mother’s Day post had my heart. I loved the way you spoke about every mother who is the symbol of selfless love. Anna must have been the best child to her blessed mother.
Beautiful post for mother’s day. I never checked on Google the history of this day. Thanks to let us know the reason for celebration. All I know that it is celebrated for the love and affection. Every day is a mother’s day always start with our mother’s.
This heartfelt post beautifully captures the essence of motherhood and the profound love and care that a mother brings into her child’s life. I can relate to it, Samata, how that becoming a mother has transformed your life in the most beautiful way, making you appreciate the unconditional love and sacrifices your own mother made for you.
Your post reminds us of the extraordinary power of a mother’s love and how it shapes our lives. Thank you for sharing your beautiful journey of motherhood. Love to lil one.
Such a beautiful post. Mothers are really special. I didn’t know the story behind celebrating Mother’s Day. Thanks for sharing it. God bless you and your little one.
This just warms my heart! I never knew the history of Mother’s day. So this post was really fascinating. Congratulations on being a mum. Though it has been a year, it still feels surreal, isn’t it? Special appreciation for the creatives you so beautifully made! 🙂
Such a beautiful post, Samata. And as always, I got to learn something new. Thanks so much for sharing the history of Mother’s Day. Moms are truly sweethearts. And many congratulations to you. God bless.
A mother’s love is unconditional and selfless, making her a pillar of strength and a source of comfort and nurturing throughout a person’s life. Mother’s Day honours and recognises their immeasurable contributions, expressing gratitude for their boundless love. For the significant role they play in our lives, actually Mother’s Day must be celebrated everyday but I’m glad that this day came into being where the sole focus is on the woman who sculpts a child with values, love and kind heartedness to become a fine adult. Glad to read the origin of Mother’s Day. Congratulations to you and your little one. Happy Mothers Day to the gleaming mom. 🙂
Thanks for sharing the history of this day. This time I celebrated Mother’s Day with my mother-in-law and took her for a treat to have her favourite things.
So beautifully written! Motherhood has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I can’t imagine my life without my babies. The history behind it is interesting to know. Thanks for sharing.
I was unaware of the origin of the celebration of Mother’s Day! Being a Mommy blogger, this is the most special day of the year. My kids so much look forward to the events and gifts! I usually cook an elaborate meal for my Mom and MIL.
So true. I agree that mothers are an important part of our lives and any mother, whether human or animal, is special.
Very well put together. Mothers come in different forms and need not just be the one who actually birthed you. It is about selfless love and care and taking care of the emotional & physical well being of the child. Only a true mother can do that.
We all celebrate mothers day in our own way. We love to make our Mom, Our first love of life feel special but, we didnt know the story behind mother’s day and it’s celebration. Thank you for this post.
Such a great realisation you’ve got when you became a mother as well. I guess, we all have the same feeling of more understanding towards our own mother once we become one as well. Appreciate you sharing more about what Mother’s day is all about and how it started.
Thank you for sharing the story of Mother’s day. My son used to make me feel so special on Mother’s day but he is no more. My daughter treated me to a tres leche tiramisu and a huge vase of flowers. I regret now showing the same love to my mother. I was the youngest of 5 and my mom and I were poles apart. I do adored her though
History has witnessed even God’s crave for mother’s love so I agree that every day is Mother’s Day her contributions and love are irreplaceable. Being a mother I so relate to it every day.
A very sweet post. Congratulations to you on becoming a mother yourself last year.
