O – Owl Question

O – Owl Question

Tuklu: Daddy, why do owls stay up at night? Don’t they feel sleepy?

Dad: Because they are nocturnal, sweetheart. That means they sleep during the day and stay awake at night. Opposite to the humans.

Tuklu: Ooooh… Very much like me when I ask for just one more story at bedtime? 🙂

Dad (raising an eyebrow): Exactly. You are practically a semi-owl. Except owls don’t demand to hear princess-dinosaur-pirate stories at 9 O’clock, at night.

Tuklu (wide-eyed): Wait… do owls read bedtime stories too? Their moms and dads can also tell bedtime stories like you and mumma.

Dad: Only if they are good bookworms and their parents know good stories to tell.

Tuklu (giggling): Get it? Bookworm! Because worms are snacks AND stories! What a combo Daddy. 🙂

Dad: You are much sharper than an owl’s talon tonight. Please don’t make it more sharper, or else I will become mad.

Tuklu: So, if I’m an owl, do I get to hoot instead of brushing my teeth? 🙂

Dad: Nice effort, my boy, but remember, I am your dad. Even owls have to keep their beaks clean.

Tuklu (hooting while brushing): Hoo hoo! Hoo hoo!

Dad: That’s it. You are nocturnal. And possibly a hilarious version of Owl.

Tuklu: One more story, Daddy? Just a teeny, tiny, owl-sized one?

Dad (sighs and smiles): Only if it’s about an owl who slept on time. Are you that Owl?

Tuklu: That sounds like fantasy. I would love to be that OWL. Daddy, start the story. 🙂
