G – Grandma’s Secret
G – Grandma’s Secret
Granddaughter: Grandma, how old are you?
Grandma: My little sweet girl, your Granny is Sweet-70. 🙂
Granddaughter: (whispers) Wow! You’ve been a grandma forever!
Grandma: (chuckles) Well, Dear, not forever. Once upon a time, I used to be like you, a little girl.
Granddaughter: (With Big eyes) Really? Did you have dinosaurs back then? And when you met me for the first time, Granny?
Grandma: Not True! But in our times, we saw landline phones with actual cords. And no internet. Well, when your momma gave me you in my lap in the hospital bed, I became your Granny, my love. (A face full of smile)
Granddaughter: (gasps) What are you saying Granny, –No Wi-Fi?! How did you live?!
Grandma: We read books, played outside, and used our imagination.
Granddaughter: So did the… cavemen? What’s the difference you are saying?
Grandma: (laughing) Close enough. We even used encyclopedias—those were our Google. People in those days were emotionally connected and not mechanically like today’s generation over mobile and laptops.
Granddaughter: En-cy-clo-what now? That sounds like a dinosaur!
Grandma: Honestly, it felt like one. Heavy, slow, and took up a lot of space.
(The child eyes Grandma suspiciously.)
Granddaughter: So, you are really 70? Or is that like a secret Grandma number? (There was a question in her eyes, and Granny was enjoying that)
Grandma: Well, I tell people I’m 70. But secretly, I’m 29 with 41 years of experience.
Granddaughter: Whoa. That sounds so magical! Is that some mathematics formula that you said now?
Grandma: Exactly. That’s what happens when you eat your vegetables and avoid people who ask too many questions about your age. (with a semi-angry face)
Granddaughter: So… if I eat my broccoli, will I also turn into a grandma too?
Grandma: Eventually, but first, you’ll have to survive middle school. That’s the real jungle sweetie.
Granddaughter: Okay, Grandma. You win. You are officially the coolest dinosaur I know.
Grandma: (winks) And you must not forget it.

I’m loving your blogs. They are so heart-warming and has high educational value. Also yes people who survived without wi-fi exist and it is commendable!
