D- Dinosaur Logic
D – Dinosaur Logic
Daughter: Papa, have you ever met any dinosaurs when they were ruling this world?
Papa: No, beta! They existed when even I was not born. Do I look that old to you? (There was a mischievous smile on the face)
Daughter: Oh! Is that so? I think, you just missed them.
Papa: Just missed them? What do you mean? Absolutely, no! Dinosaurs went extinct several millions of years ago!
The Daughter’s eyes turned big in wonder.
Daughter: But Papa I heard you saying mumma that you’ve seen the world more than her!
Papa: Not everything, beta! I mean, I’ve seen black-and-white TVs, rotary phones, and floppy disks. I am a few years older than your mom. That is why I said I have seen the world more than her. I am old, but not as much as the dinosaur!
Daughter: Hmm… But Papa why do your knees start making sounds like dinosaur bones when you take the stairs or take me in your lap?
Papa: That’s not because I’m ancient, that’s because I carry you and you are also growing so it creates pressure on my knees!
Daughter: And you always groan when you sit down. Just like a T-Rex would if it had to sit on a small chair!
Papa: Sigh I groan because grown-ups have responsibilities.
Daughter: What’s that?
Papa: Something scarier than dinosaurs.
Daughter: Whoa! Oh Papa What do they eat?
Papa: Our time, our energy, and sometimes it takes our sleep too!
Daughter: It sounds like dinosaurs were much better creatures than Groan.
Papa: Maybe, but dinosaurs never got chance to enjoy ice cream, video games, or even a playhouse!
Daughter: Hmm… But they also didn’t have homework, and school too. They were free to play anytime. Poor Me 🙁
Papa: Touché.
Daughter: So… are you sure Papa you weren’t around them when they were here?
Papa: Yes, Beta. Sure! (With a funny face)
Daughter: Okay. But, if you ever remember meeting one, please tell me!
Papa: (Father laughed out loud) Deal, but I’d probably remember something like that!
Child: Not True. You forget where you put your glasses all the time.
Papa:(laughing uncontrollably) … Beta, go dear, and do your homework.
