The word “hostel” sets most people in utmost nostalgia as the entire phase related to hostel or college days has umpteen memories. This series makes a similar impact on the viewers. The main cast members are Anindya Sengupta, Kanchan Mullick, Arpan Ghoshal, Rohaan Bhattacharjee, Roshni Bhattacharyya, Pushan Dasgupta, Rahul Barui, and Subha Chattopadhyay. Satyaki Kundu and Souvik Mondal have directed this web series. Hostel Days was released on Hoichoi on 25 November 2022. The series is a sum of six episodes, each with a 30-minute runtime.
Hostel Days – The Series Plot
Hostel Days revolves around the lives of a group of aspiring youths in an engineering college located in Mandarmani, West Bengal. The series begins with typical scenes of a boys’ hostel room to which every hostel-goer will relate. Bad food served at the mess, hilarious attempts to cook in the rooms, and burning answer papers in the examination hall to eliminate failure chances are just some instances from the entire series that will make you go LOL.
Orko, Kapil, Parikhit, and others Parikhit are best of pals, and their friendship is worth learning from. However, amidst fun and frolic, some would-be engineers struggle with their personal lives, especially Parikhit. Kanchan Mullick’s character is synonymous with a one-of-a-kind “dada” who seems to be the saviour in thick soups. The series takes on a serious note when the youngsters get involved in an offence.
Hostel Days- Director Excellence
Hostel Days is close to the plot of 3 Idiots, but thankfully, the director duo has not copied the script from the Bollywood drama. The twists and turns towards the end of the series are what make the series unique.
Hostel Days- Characters, Story and Finishing
All cast members have fully justified the directors’ attempts to click the nostalgic button of the viewers. Whether you are a hostel-goer or not, whether an engineering college student or not, the scenes will still be relatable in some way or another. The only downside of the six-episode series seems to be the hastiness towards the end to conclude the story. A few more episodes would have kept things on a timed track, as the story seems to rush to the finish line.
Hostel Days- Final Verdict
Notwithstanding, the endeavour of each artist to light up their script, and the director’s attempts to portray each intricacy of a typical hostel, are worth appreciating. Thus, IndiaCafe24 gives Hostel Days 4 stars.

I think with subtitles I will totally enjoy the book. I have never subscribed to Hoichoi but seems like I should. They have many good showz
This seems really interesting to watch, with a great plot though I have to get the subscription for the same but I will surely catch this web series.
With the introduction of OTTs in the Indian entertainment industry, the cross-language and cultural content is used a lot. I am also ever searching for good content regardless of language thanks to subtitles.
Hindi version of hostel days is so well made and so relatable. It looks like the Bengali version is equally good. I don’t understand Bengali so won’t be able to watch it.
Haven’t seen this one, but the theme sounds interesting. Thanks fr recommending will try to catch up with it sometime.
