Dangal, has been one of the most awaited movies of 2016 and the only movie to be released in the year featuring Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan. The movie also features Fatima Sana Sheikh, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar, Sanya Malhotra, Sakshi Tanwar, Aparshakti Khurana, Ritwik Sahore, Girish Kulkarni inpivotal roles. The music of the movie has been composed by Pritam and it has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Dangal has been released in theaters on 23rd Dec 2016.
The story of Dangal is based on the life of former wrestling champion, Mahavir Singh Phogat (Amir Khan) and his struggle to turn his daughters into world class wrestlers. Mahavir, wishes to have a son who can help him realize the dream of winning a gold medal for India in the sport of wrestling. However, when his wife Shobha Kaur (Sakshi Tanwar) gives birth to their fourth daughter, he feels disappointed and considers his dream to be lost forever. That is until one day his two eldest daughters Geeta and Babita return home after beating some boys black and blue. The incident makes Mahavir realize that he can train his girl to become great wrestlers and realize his dream of making the country proud. So he takes up the challenge of turning his beloved daughters into world class champions against the centuries old traditions of society and male domination of the sport.
Dangal highlights the real life struggles and hard work of Mahavir Singh Phogat and his entire family as they fight the prejudices and the social norms with the sole aim of bringing glory to their country. Nitesh Tiwari has done a wonderful task of blending the realistic fiber of the screenplay with intermittent threads of fiction to create an inspiring tale of success. Amir outdoes himself once again as he plays the role of a loving father who must turn into a strict and relentless trainer for his daughters to make them achieve what seems almost impossible. The four actresses playing the roles of Geeta and Babita, along with Sakshi Tanwar,who plays their mother have leave the audiences stunned with their performances.
