Top 5 Bollywood Blockbusters in the First Half Of 2015
Six months of 2015 have already become history, which is why it is time to analyze the performance of various Bollywood movies released during this period. Given below are the top five blockbusters from Jan –June 2015.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns: This sequel to the 2011 blockbuster movie Tanu weds Manu was appreciated for its realistic characters and storyline. The movie made with a budget of 30 crore, went on to earn 240 crore at the box office.
Dil Dhadakne Do: This comedy drama had an ensemble star cast of some of the most renowned actors of Bollywood. Despite being criticized for its weak storyline, the movie made with a budget of 85 crore went on to gross 147 crore at the global box office.
Baby: This espionage film that boasted of an ensemble star cast of some of best actors did not drive much attention upon its theatrical release. However, that did not prevent the movie made with a budget of 60 crore, to gross 125 crore at the box office.
ABCD 2: Yet another sequel but with a different storyline from the original movie, ABCD 2 was one of the most awaited releases of 2015. The movie made with a budget of 60 crore, has earned 110 crore at the box office till date.
Piku: This dramatic comedy received much critical acclaim although it did not create much buzz upon its theatrical release. However, the movie made with a budget of 35 crore went on to do a business of 111 crore at the global box offices.
