B – Bedtime Excuse

B – Bedtime Excuse

Mumma: Time for bed, my sweetheart! Come, let’s sleep.

Daughter: But my toys aren’t sleepy yet! Can I make them sleep first? They need me to make them sleep, just the way I need you, Mumma, to sleep.

Mumma: Baby, I’m pretty sure that your Teddy started snoring and continuing this for the last ten minutes. Teddy must be in deep sleep already. Come on Bebo, its your turn to sleep.

Daughter (whispers): Oh Mumma, you are so big still you don’t understand it. Dear Mumma Teddy is just pretending-snoring! He does that to trick me and once I head towards my bed he will wake up and play. Do you know Mumma I have to pat him at least 100 times before he actually sleeps.

Mumma: Oh dear… at this rate, we’ll both be grandmothers before you’re done!

Daughter: It’s okay, Mumma. You can sleep while I handle them—just like you always say, ‘Mumma never sleeps, but she rests her eyes.’ I am Teddy’s Mumma and so I need to be like you Mumma, to make sure my baby sleeps on time.

Mumma (sighs): Looks like someone has been paying way too much attention to my bedtime excuses! Or is that true that I am playing the Mumma’s role well to inspire Bebo to be a caring mommy like me.
