Most love stories feature a love triangle, but only a few of them handle the conflict well. When Fate Conspires, a novel penned by Purvi Mehta, thankfully belongs to the latter category. I am not that much in favor of love stories these days because I read so much of this genre which I accidentally found to be that stereotyped man and woman love. But when I noticed this long-distance element in this book synopsis, I thought to give it a try. That’s how this review is coming up.
Plot:
Neel, the successful CEO of his own advertising company, is a passionate young man in a long-distance relationship with Tia. Then Neel hires Rashi, an excellent designer, and as the bond between the two grows stronger they start developing romantic feelings for each other, and Tia becomes irked. Neel struggles to express his feelings to Rashi as he feels bound by his commitment to Tia. As his personal life with Tia is in turmoil and his heart continues to pull him towards Rashi, Neel feels uncertain of what turn things will take?
Character Development:
The author must get an appreciation for the wonderful development and expression of each character. I will also congratulate her for giving each character a strong role to play. Moreover, she has managed to keep the characters humanly realistic and inspires goodness through them. Trust me, even if the plot is strong and the characters are weak, you will not love reading, and might after few pages, you will stop continuing. But the way Purvi Mehta developed the characters is no less than a seasoned author.
Story:
The story is a love triangle themed around a sweet, tender, and intoxicating office romance. It provides an interesting insight into the Punjabi culture besides highlighting life in the corporate world.
Writing style:
It’s a slow-paced story, and the overexplaining by the writer in some sections makes for a somewhat dull reading experience in those areas. However, the overall writing style is crisp and engaging, which keeps the readers hooked until the very end.
I do feel the book is aptly titled. It reflects how fate intervenes to turn the lives of people upside down.
Final Verdict:
This is a must-read book for people seeking sentimental gratification, and I give it 4.5 /5 while looking forward to Purvi’s latest work.

Not much into romance these days but this one seems interesting. The triangle with long distance relationship caught my attention.
4.5 that a means a worth reading. I would love to know about Punjabi culture, though I have a few Punjabi friends. Thanks for the recommendation.
