There are only a handful of books that combine different themes and still make for a good read. When I first heard about the book Cupid Covid, penned by Devinder Dhingra, I was sure that it was another Iove story with COVID-19 as the backdrop. I never expected the book to combine the themes of suspense and thrill (which I came to know about only after reading its blurb). Upon receiving the book, I found the cover page to be a perfect reflection of the current times.
31 years old Mohit is ill-fated in love as he is dumped by two of his former lovers, Deepthi and Raavi. Now, just four months after his arranged marriage to Siddhima, Mohit is suspected of being infected with COVID and is admitted to the hospital. The nurse attending him reminds Mohit of Raavi although he is not able to ascertain her identity for sure as she is always wearing a PPE kit. As Mohit undergoes treatment, he reminisces about his past and also struggles with the fact that he is still trying to bond with Siddhima. Is the nurse attending Mohit really Raavi and if yes will Mohit succumb to the temptations of reuniting with his past love or will he give his marriage a chance?
Cupid Covid is much more than a simple love story and I truly enjoyed reading the book. it contradicts the much-propagated falsehood that love happens only once in life. At the same time, it also highlights the fact that every-romantic encounter, irrespective of its duration holds a special place in the heart of an individual. The various twists and turns in the plot and its obvious link with the COVID crisis keep the readers engaged until the very end. I wish Devinder all the best for the success of this book which presents a tale of love from a different perspective.

The various twists and turns in the plot and its obvious link with the COVID crisis keep the readers engaged until the very end. I wish Devendra all the best for the success of this book which presents a tale of love from a different perspective.
