1. Little Women; Author: Louisa May Alcott
This book is one of the finest classics to read this Christmas. The tale surrounds the March family comprising the mother and her four daughters, whose father is away from home to serve the nation’s war. The sacrifices of the mother who works to earn for the family and the bonding despite differences are something to learn from in this legend.
2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Author: Dr. Seuss
The plot of this story revolves around Grinch, who dislikes the festival and the celebrations. He stays in Whoville and plans to snatch Christmas from the natives. But there is a twist in the story that is worth reading and enjoying.
3. A Christmas Carol; Author: Charles Dickens
This book is one of the best reads on this festival, as it highlights the true essence of caring and giving. The story is about Ebenezer Scrooge, a penny-pincher who does not treat his relatives or staff properly. He gets visions of the ghosts of his acquaintances, and the experience changes him forever.
4. Letters from Father Christmas; Author: J.R.R. Tolkien
This book is a compilation of letters the author wrote by pretending to be Father Christmas. He wrote letters to his children every year describing his experiences at the North Pole. Sometimes, the Polar Bear or the Elf would also write the messages. Readers of all ages shall connect to this masterpiece and feel the originality in the words.
5. The Gift of the Magi; Author: O. Henry
Last but certainly not least on this list is the eminent Christmas story that will touch all readers. The plot revolves around a poor couple who want to gift each other Christmas gifts.
