Love story…… Oh! once again….. was the feeling that came to my mind when I read the title “That’s true, I love her. But my mind said, “hold on….. it can be different. and why not give it a try.” It’s a love story but something different, and, am sure many will not get even the slightest indication about the essence behind this story, which I, as a reader, loved so much.
It’s the story of a young woman who is extraordinary in every sense and preferred to be unbiased in choosing her love. Being fearless in life, only a few can be in this world, and the protagonist of this story Ammara is a definite one among them. She was on a journey to find her true love.
So what’s the story all about? The story begins at the Charminar city of Hyderabad. Ammara faced a painful break up with Raghav. He was his boyfriend for many years, but for some reason, the relationship failed to continue long. But the story takes the peak right from this stage, with a trip to Thailand for Ammara with her parents. Here the author described the beauty of Thailand, in such an inspiring way, that through her words I completed my second trip to Thailand.
In Thailand, she meets someone really special, Bam, and trust me, you are guessing wrong as it’s not a HE but a SHE. The trip was just for a week but a complete life-changing one for Ammar.
After the trip, when she was back, she got depressed and was wondering whom to choose, the one she met a week back, or the one with whom she broke before the trip and who wanted her back in life. The inner battle Of Ammara begins here. There were two options for her:
-
Accept her actual identity by welcoming Bam into her life and start facing the social challenges
-
Accept Raghav again, forgiving him for the breakup and fall prey to the social system, for the sake of existence.
I insist that all my fellow book lover friends should pick this book to read. I assure you will witness love in a different mode, and that will touch your heart. After a long gap, I am getting the opportunity to read some different love stories, and “That’s true, I love her” is one among them.
Coming to writing style, it’s fast-paced, gripping, and goes with a flowing story. Author Priyanka M.A. Singh with her unique plot and writing style introduced us to the inner feelings of the people belonging to the LGBTQ community. Such a bold approach by the author made me her absolute fan. I am sure that this story will touch the heart of many who respects and supports true love. Excellent work by author Priyanka and I wish her the best in life.

Very detail and good review. Such stories of love are rare to witness
I am going to start this book tomorrow so seeing such a great and positive review makes me want to read it right away. Great review Samata.
I’ve read this book and I loved the bold attempt by Author on writing about LGBT topic.
A very detailed and interesting review. Such books are rare to see but it’s good they are out there discussing these topics and starting conversations among readers.
This book I have already completed reading so many days back and few things started to fade away from my mind…but your review has helped me to gain those faded areas again in my mind and also the review is very much perfect in its framing.
I am midway in this book and will finish soon. I agree it’s fast paced.
I like the way you write your reviews… detailed one.. Will try to grab this book soon
I had read this book in December 2020 and loved the take of author on LGBTQ community, great review, keep it up.
I loved reading this book. Waiting for it’s sequel. Well summed up.
I think that this kind of books should be written more. Books with romances not cliche one with an important note.
Sounds like a wonderful read, judging that the book deals with struggles of identifying oneself? Maybe this one portrayed a lgbt woman but sometimes somewhere we all face the struggle of selection and at that moment all of this is pretty relatable
Such a well-detailed and beautifully summed up review! 🙂
A gripping 5 star Lgbt romance novel seems enticing and you’re review is beautiful! Thank you for the rec!
Oh you are tempting me to start this book ASAP ????
Loved how you gave a point by point review ????
This is such a nice and crisp review. Loved it. I am staying away from love stories till June. Will pick it up after that
