My Father Is A Hero is one of those books that tugs at your heart and makes you relish the special bond that you share with your father. The heart-warming tale written by Australia based Indian writer Nishant Kaushik, captures the sweet relationship between a single father and his ten year old daughter. The cover page has been aptly designed to depict the premise of the story. I was really excited to read this book and so just started with the task as soon as I received a copy.
Vaibhav Kulkarni lives a modest life and has an equally modest career. The one thing that lights up his universe is the sense of pride and love inspired in him by his young daughter, Nisha who despite being only ten years old, is a child prodigy academics and music and also has a sweet and charming personality. Being a single parent, Vaibhav does not feel much about leaving behind his own unfulfilled dreams and aspirations. However, Vaibhav soon faces the most difficult challenge of his life, when Nisha, suddenly starts losing interest in her dreams and starts showing the sign of seclusion and despair.
My Father Is A Hero, is the tale of the deep love that a father has for her daughter and for which he is willing to go to any length. It reflects the fact that persistent efforts, courage and unconditional love makes it possible for even an ordinary man to become a hero. It narrates the emotional struggles that both the father and the child go through while facing the challenges that life throws at them. Contrary to being an emotional potboiler, the book proved to be a light read thanks to its easy language and crisp writing style. Personally I loved this novel by Nishant Kaushik and wish him all the best for its success.
