Writing has been a passion area since childhood and she tries to find time for it in between juggling a demanding career and being a full time mom to a cheery (almost!) 3 year old.
Hi Nirmiti, congratulations for your published story in the Blogchatter Thriller anthology. How did you think to be a part of this anthology?
Thank You! I was pushed by a friend. I am a highly private person and all my writing till now has been for a very small closed group. She encouraged me to try the anthology contest and I took the plunge 🙂
The Fields– How did this plot come to your mind? How many days you took to complete the story.
Like most of my plots come. While driving. While I was watching a young child playing with a Tyre and stick under a tree. I took 1.5 hours to write it at one go. And then went back and made a few modifications for crisper impact.
What are the elements of thriller you consider a must for every thriller story?
Honestly I don’t think there is magic formula or recipe for any piece of writing except one: Reader connection. If what you write is relatable to your audience, it will leave a lasting impact. Else, it will just be decorative. The sane holds true for any genre be it comedy, dramedy, tragedy or a thriller.
You added a pinch of emotion in the thriller, how did you think to add this angle of emotion in this story?
Actually my story’s core is based on emotion. An unusual attraction between 2 unique beings. The elements of supernatural and the hanging question of ‘what is it’ are the peripheral bolsters around the core.
How and when did you step into the world of writing for the first time?

I’ve been writing as long as I remember. Even as a child. It was mostly poems then
I wrote my first short story at the age of 24. It’s still the most special to me. Although I have as many as 20 manuscripts of short stories, poems and novellas, publishing them wasn’t something that was top of mind for me. Thank You BlogChatter and Readomania for drawing me out of my shell 🙂
What tips do you wish to give to budding authors?
Write. Whatever you wish to, without thinking how it reads to someone else.
It always starts by first writing for yourself
No idea is foolish or overdone.
Who is your favorite thriller author?

Roald Dahl by far. He was a master of the macabre.
What are your other passions in life?
Singing. Traveling. Sitting with my girl gang and just talking about the days of yore with a good Scotch 🙂
If not thriller, what genre would you will love to write?
Love. I hate calling it romance because love comes in different varieties. Between a child and parent, siblings, friends, pets, teachers and students.
How do you rate yourself as a writer?
Aah. I’d never do that. Ratings take away ideation. I would be happy to be loved even by 1.
