Death Of A District Magistrate By Nachi – A Breathtaking Thriller Full Of Surprises
A good mystery thriller leaves the readers excited and makes them put all their other tasks on hold till they learn the truth. Very few writers can achieve this in their debut novel, and Nachi is one of them as his book Death Of A District Magistrate is a roller-coaster ride of thrill and mystery.
Premise:
Arjun Iyer is a dashing and upright DSP, who loves to go out in the field and solve crimes rather than sitting behind a desk in a cozy office. His partner is Assistant Inspector Munuswamy, who despite his irascible and devil-may-care personality, is deeply loyal to Arjun. The two start investigating the death of the District Magistrate in a house full of people. At first, the death is suspected to be a simple case of suicide, but as Arjun and Munnu move forward with the investigation, their suspicion of it being a murder becomes stronger. Well, every person present in the house at the time of the crime becomes a suspect. So, Arjun and Munnu need to use their brilliance and crime-solving skills to find the real culprit.
Character Development:
The author needs to get applauded for his skill, of character development despite the presence of a multitude of them in the novel. Every single character is presented vividly and thoroughly and has a distinct personality. I especially loved how the personalities of Arjun and his deputy have been brought forth.
Story:
This is a whodunit murder mystery that has been written in a style that is at par with Agatha Christie. The presence of multiple characters makes the novel engaging rather than causing confusion. Moreover, the numerous surprises give a unique twist to the story and make it quite suspenseful while ensuring that the readers are not able to put it down before turning the last page.
Writing style:
The book is fast-paced and gripping and leaves the readers thrilled to the core. The story is tight, and the writer has managed to keep the mystery so well crafted that it is nearly impossible to know the end until one reaches it.
Cover Page:
The design of the cover page of the book along with its title, both looks alluring and attractive. It makes the readers curious to know more and start reading it in earnest.
Final Verdict:
This is a must-read book for people who love a perfect thriller mystery that is gripping till the very last page, and I give it 4.5/5.

Interestingly engaging book. The way you wrote this book review is remarkable. The thought that I’m not into this kind of genre makes it more impressing. haha..keep on writing!
The Death of A District Magistrate sounds like an edge-of-the-seat thriller. A book you can finish in one go, and one of my favourite genres. A nice and concise review gives an idea of the plot and the pace of the book.

Fast paced murder mystery are always good to read as it creates the curiosity level high. I lately read Pandora Box was left open by Dyumanti and it was also officer and assistant plot who solve murder cases.
