Trishul and Lord Shiva are incomplete without each other. When there is a mythological story centering this Trishul of Lord Shiva, it was hard for me to skip this book, “The Wielder of the Trishul”, by Satyam. I remained a die heart follower of Lord Shiva. Well, so was curious to know what can be the story centering on this Trishul. My curiosity towards the story got rewarded with a unique plot. The plot remained not just interesting but worth reading for others too.
Story:
The story centred on the Trishul of Lord Shiva. The story narrates that this Trishul is now on the planet of Dhruv Lok (Mythological one). Centuries passed, and no one managed to show the guts to wield this Trishul from Dhruvlok. But as time passed, a change I witnessed in the storyline. Well, now 108th Dhruvanshi Prince Virat is gearing up to wield the Trishul. But the situation turned critical as the powerful Asura Vritra entered into a war-like situation against the Devas to take control of the Trishul. Who will take charge of the Trishul after the war ends? Well, it forms the remaining part of the story.
Plot:
The plot is magically weaved by the author. It makes the reader feel as if they are visualizing the war and the characters involved in front of their eyes. It is one of the best Hindu mythological books I read in recent times. The plot is divided into three parts and 47 chapters, which will keep the readers hooked till the end. It is a gripping war story of Indra – the King of Devas and Vritra, the powerful Asura. Who loves mystery and mythology together will find this plot not just interesting but outstanding.
Character Development:
Character development is an art. Here author Satyam proved well his mastery in this art. Well-developed characters are the key ingredients behind the wonderful and gripping plot of this book. The author gave minute attention to all major and supporting characters.
I have never seen such flawless work of character development by any author of recent time. Equal importance the author gave to every character of the story.
Writing Style:
I already mentioned that the story is penned in such a magical way that the reader will experience the story in front of eyes. Every emotion, sentiment, anger, urge, ups and downs presented in such lucid way and style that it emerged as a page-turner book. The narration and flow of the story are very simple and unique to touch every reader’s heart. The best thing about this book is that, in the end, a glossary is given. It explains the meaning of the Indian terms for the readers to understand.
Cover Page:
The first glance of the book cover page represents the theme of a war centering on the Trishul of Mahadev. We can make an idea about who can be the participants of this war from the cover. The two hands on the cover represent the asura and the deva. It describes the fact that it’s a mythological work by the author.
Final Verdict:
If you want to read an excellent Mythological story that can fulfil your desire for a quality read, then pick this book. Trust me, you will not only love it, but you will cherish the story. Author Satyam did a wonderful job in this book, and I wish immense success for this book and also, for the author. For me, it’s an absolute 5/5 read.
