Recently when I was exploring the shelves of a bookstore seeking something interesting to read, I came across this one book which stood out mainly due to the attractive design of its cover page. As I picked up the book, I could not help but smile as the entire cover page was a riot of colors and featured a young man expressing his great delight. The book titled “Oh Shit! I Am Hitched” is penned by Sahil Rajput and made me feel so inquisitive that I purchased it immediately. I could not even wait to get back home to start reading the book so excited I had become by its cover page.
The book tells the tale of Chirag and Pallavi. Chirag, an aspiring computer science professional gains admission to a prestigious college. It is here that he meets Pallavi, and is immediately taken in by her vivacious charm. As his friendship with Pallavi deepens, he starts falling in love with her and tries his best to woo her. However, all his dreams are shattered when the two lovers face opposition due to both of them belonging to different casts. Will Chirag be able to break the age-old shackles of cast and faith and unite with the love of his life remains to be seen?

It is written in a simple and funny manner which ensures that the YA audience can relate to it quite easily. The characters and situations in the book are realistic as are the issues faced by them. The presence of some Hindi dialogues here and there gives a filmy touch to the book and further enhances the interest of the readers in it. Overall I found the book to be quite light-hearted and completely entertaining. I wish Sahil all the best for its success and hope that he continues to entertain us with his great writing abilities for a long time to come.

It is written in a simple and funny manner which ensures that the YA audience can relate to it quite easily. The characters and situations in the book are realistic as are the issues faced by them.
